Hi All

Me and my friend are having problems getting his Creative Soundblaster Live 24bit soundcard to work.

We Uninstalled the onboard drivers and then disabled the unboard sound in the bios. We then installed the drivers for the Creative soundcard, but we arent able to get it to work at all. When checking the status of the soundcard in control panel/audio devices it states that the soundcard isnt working properly. it says it isnt functioning properly cus it needs more sources. The advice from windows is to disable other sound related sources.. can somebody help plz.

thnx in advance

A strange problem...

If your mobo recognises the card Im thinkin driver error. Are these drivers from a cd? maybe try finding newer drivers online at soundblaster.com...

also what mobo (other specs)?

EDIT: just had a look and they have Live24bit drivers here: linky Are these the one's you're trying?

Hmm, I guess the only other thing is to try a different PCI slot. Sometimes the end slot is defunct on some motherboards, dont ask me why! :P

Other than that Im outta ideas..

Other than that you could always try cleaning the registry. I know it's a long shot, but if all else fails......................

The pci slot located beneath the agp port sometimes malfuntions if a demanding videocard is inserted there. Perhaps that helps although it sounds like a driver problem.
