Installing a game with a bad or corrupted file?

I am trying to install sim city 4 deluxe edition. I bought the game several months ago and had some initial problems getting the game installed. The first CD has a single scratch and whenever i go through the installation, a sound file cannot be installed. Checked it out, sure enough, it skips when played with musicmatch. The installation will not go one without this file. Is there anyway that i can install the game without a sound file?

There's a prog called BadCD Repair that may solve your problem. I'm pretty sure it's free, or if not you could at least dl it as a trial and fix your cd. If this program is not tolerated here I apoligize, read the rules & such, BCDR is completely legal. If you can't or don't want to do this, try your local media store & look for SkipDr- they're about $20-$30 but well worth it if you have a lot of cd's.
