Battle Field 2 HELP PLEASE!

I downloaded the demo about 100 times now. Everytime I ran it, the screen would go black, flash back to my desktop for a split second, go back to black, and then go back to my desktop. It has never run on my PC. It would just do that cycle. Finally I bought a "PC Hardware: Gaming" magazine with the demo in the back. I thought: "Maybe it will work now...". When I put the disk in and went to the download section, I clicked on the Batt Field 2 part. It then showed the requirements. It said the following:

Processor/CPU:1700 MHz-------------|-------AMD 1877 MHz
RAM:--------: 512MB----------------|-------512 MB
HD Space:---: 600MB----------------|-------C: 28.925GB
3D Accelerator: Yes------------------|-------GE Force4 MX 4000/AGP/SSE/3DNOW
DirectX:------: 9.0-------------------|------- 9.0

However there is an "X" at the end of the row that has RAM. All of the others have check marks.

I also went to the demo's properties and did every possible combination of the available changes.

Battlefield require graphic card with DirectX 9.0 of higher
GF4 is too low. (GF4 MX is way too low ;))

You maybe have 3rd party program for REFRESH RATES in games like REFORCE, RADEON CATALYST CONTROL CENTER,...
You must revert original settings meaning all games have 60HZ refresh rate by deafult.

If that doesn't work go to:

X:\Battlefield2\mods\BF2\Settings\VIDEODEAFULT.C ON - open this file with notepad and change line renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 to 1 like this renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 save and exit.

It should work !

there is also a patch available for Gforce cards, it adds shader support

LOL, What changing refresh rate can help?

I have GF4 and 60hz always and BF2 dont run

you need a new graphixs card mate i have the same problem ... looks like ya gunna have to update .... :thumbup:

Look the refresh rate is the problem that battlefield 2 doesn't work for 85% people !!

I didn't know that you have crappy Graphic Card !

You should go to www.gamecopyworld.com

and look for an fix for battlefield 2 that is called : GF4 Shader Fix

And download it and install it !!

I think it should work !
