i jus bought Age of Empire 3. i can install it but i can't play.
it showed me this msg while loading... Your graphics driver may be too old to run Age of Empires III. If you wish to update your drivers, please contact your computer manufacturer for any necessary assistance. System information: 2600 MHz, 512 MB, 128 MB Radeon 9200 (vendorID 1002, deviceID 5961) after seeing this msg. i attempt to run but it show me a msg dat my DirectX intialization failed. when i check dxdiag. under DirectX files. The file qasf.dll is an old version, which could cause problems. You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version. i try using de DirectX 9.0c but i dunno where to extract it to. futhermore. all de files inside are zip files. i even ask my fren who has de same graphic card as me but dere was no problems found. so i got de file frm my fren through msn. copied it to windows registeredpackages & system32. replacing de old file. but de same msg appears. does de prob lies wif DirectX, my graphic card or de CD? GRAPHICS CARD SPECS. Radeon 9200 128MB DirectX 9.0c COMPUTER SPECS. Pentium 4 80G hard drive 2.60GHz 512MB RAM AoE SPECS. windows XP 256MB RAM 1.4GHz processor 2GB hard drive video card: 64MB with support for hardware transformation and lighting |

I agree with Twisted about uninstalling your old version of dx. You should also download a copy of DriverCleanerPro, which I use every time I update or switch audio/video drivers. Makes sure nothing butts heads. If you still have the dll problem try:
http://www.windll.com/ They should have it. If not Google: intitle:qasf filetype:dl Hope this helps.
