it showed me this msg while loading...
Your graphics driver may be too old to run Age of Empires III. If you wish to update your drivers, please contact your computer manufacturer for any necessary assistance.

System information: 2600 MHz, 512 MB, 128 MB Radeon 9200 (vendorID 1002, deviceID 5961)

after seeing this msg. i attempt to run but it show me a msg dat my DirectX intialization failed. when i check dxdiag. under DirectX files.

The file qasf.dll is an old version, which could cause problems.
You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version.

i try using de DirectX 9.0c but i dunno where to extract it to. futhermore. all de files inside are zip files. i even ask my fren who has de same graphic card as me but dere was no problems found. so i got de file frm my fren through msn. copied it to windows registeredpackages & system32. replacing de old file. but de same msg appears. does de prob lies wif DirectX, my graphic card or de CD?

Seems like a pretty simple fix, and like JMS, i thought i could help you.. but i cant understand wtf your typing... have you installed dx9c? or what? jesus, and further more if you havent you need it, im pretty sure aoe only runs on dx9c but i could be wrong... theres directx uninstallers you could get to take the version you have off then you could install direct x 9c also go to www.nvidia.com make sure you have the lastest drivers.. well thats all i can pretty much tell you from what little i gathered from you

to make things easier...

when i insert my AoE cd and attempt to play

when i click on attempt to run

my system info

checking my DirectX files

my graphics card info

so what should i do next? i tried ATi website to try to look for new drivers. i also tried the DirectX 9.0c redistributable. but i don't quite know where to extract the files to after zipping the DirectX 9.0c files. finally, i wanna know whether its my DirectX fault or my graphics card doesn't reach Aoe requirements or the problems lies with the CD?

I agree with Twisted about uninstalling your old version of dx. You should also download a copy of DriverCleanerPro, which I use every time I update or switch audio/video drivers. Makes sure nothing butts heads. If you still have the dll problem try:

http://www.windll.com/

They should have it. If not Google: intitle:qasf filetype:dl

Hope this helps.
