Battlefield 2 Patch 1.03 issues

hi guys,
firt of all: i´m from germany, so dont be too cocky about the grammar... ;)
ok, here is the deal: when i try to install the patch it (the patch) always extracts itself on my windows drive (e in my case)! this is the first thing i dont get, why is it extracting there, because my space is very limited on this drive but i have plenty on some ohters... anyway, i freed up some and i was able to extract the patch! but when i run the .exe file it says if hav too little space on my drive to patch bf2, i need at least 1600MB!! but i havent got 1.6GB free in ny WINDOWS drive but enough on others! what can i do? im running out of ranked bf2 servers because my version is too old... is it possible to give set some parameters on the .exe file?

any advice is much appreciated
