COD2 EXE_ERR_MS_INIT_FAILED

ANYONE ELSE GET AN INITIALIZATION PROBLEM WHEN I START UP COD2 IT SAYS THAT I JUST INSTALLED A NEW X800 GTO WITH THE 6.1 CATALYST DRIVER

------- sound system initialization -------
Attempting 22 kHz 16 bit stereo sound
couldn't initialize 2D provider: waveOutOpen() failed.
Error during initialization:
EXE_ERR_MSS_INIT_FAILED_MP

I used the moega driver first and it said the same then i uninstalled it and tried the catalyst and also same thing and now my sound doesnt work

definately try updating your sound-card driver

what's your soundcard now?

thanks mendel it was a sound card problem it some how moved outta the slot when i installed my new graphics card. all fixed
