Counterstrike 2-d

i just recently started playing CS 2d and it doesn't seem to work properly on my computer at home. when I go to play a bot game it shows the mission briefing and minimap and it say that the game is loaded and i am logged in, but it will not let me leave the briefing screen and choose my team and that stuff. it also won't let me quit once i start playing. it say's at the top of the screen that i am dead and i am spectating but it is just the black briefing screen. i am confused
