BF2 SF hangs after connection

Allright, i hope someone here knows what to do , caus im about to break the damn dvd's in 2.

What happens?

I start up the BF2:SF game and search a good server. It loads up and ill wait for the 'join' button (or whatever it is) . Ill press the 'join' button and ill join the server. Within 1 or 2 seconds everything hangs. The whole pc is completely stuck. Nothing rests but a nice soft touch on the reboot button.
Weird thing is, i can play a solo game without problems.

system specs:
AMD FX-55
2 gig RAM pc3200
gforce 7800 GTX


What did i try?

I reinstalled the whole game from a-z. Install BF2 - install SF - Patch it to 1.21
didnt help. What i did notice tho is that i know was able to play a full 5 minutes on a server untill the crash occured. After the first one, it kept hanging right after i clicked the 'join server' button.

installed latest videodrivers
didnt help shit.

Turned off any virus scanner program running
Lol, the damn game is so damn buggy that this time the game crashed right away before the intro movie. After reboot it worked again, untill the joinin server thing again.

Sitting in my chair praying to God for 5 full minutes.
Didnt work, made me actually cry and loose faith.

Im open for any good idea.
