where to get a seagate 160 hardrive in the uk cheap, and with good service, i brought one a long time ago from a place called the savastore but after about 6 months or so the hardrive would not boot and started clicking, so dont mention the savastore.

I've been buying hardware from the following e-vendors for years without any probs. Only needed to RMA a harddrive to Komplett and router to Microdirect, both companys sent out replacements within a week.

Komplett

Overclockers

MicroDirect

Scan

CCL

BTW Due to crap reviews across the net I've always avoided savastore(dire aftersales). I still give them a miss when they were the only UK vendor with realtime stock of X1800XT's(and boy did I want one at the time).

You can't go far wrong with the following specs(seek and burst times will naturally be good enough)imo.

IDE DRIVES:

Interface: IDE

Data Transfer: 133MBps

Spindle Speed: 7200rpm

Buffer/Cache Size: 8 MB

SATA DRIVES:

Interface: SATA

Data Transfer: 150 MBps

Spindle Speed: 7200rpm

Buffer/Cache Size: 8 MB
