Far cry patch d/l'ed from this site ruined my game

What the hell? I downloaded the far cry patches from here and started the game and it froze the first time, then the second time it took like 5 min. to load the 1st level. It worked but then I restarted the game and it said "insert the correct cd". Plz don't tell me this site is stealing cd keys. Can anybody help? Anyone else have the same problem? I tried to reinstall far cry but my comp won't even recognize the cd now! when I try to start the cd it closes explorer. What's going on?!

I think it is my dvd drive failing. My drive won't play any cds at all now but reads dvds just fine. It's just weird that it did it right after installing the game/patches. You can close the thread now.
