Journey to the centre of the earth

I have had Journey to the centre of the earth for a while now but can't get past a certain point. First i did the game with out any help until i got to the point of leaving askiam to get the egg. I clicked on the vehicle to leave but the screen just goes black and returns to the shot of askiam. Thinking i must have missed something i found a walkthrough which told me i had done everything and all i need to do is click on the vehicle to leave. I have clicked on every part of the vehicle. I've done everything!!!! spent hours just clicking on it! i know its probably going to be something really stupid but i'm going out of my mind! Could someone please tell me what to do! Its not my computer as i have tried the game on other computers and it still doesn't work. I've even tried another copy of the game with no luck.
