argh, my laptop has gone crazy, something to do with active x controls - I can't sign in to anything useful - help!

.net and ActiveX does that to some people...me too. Just deinstall that crap

Hmm, the discription of your problem is too vague. I can't offer any help unless you explain the nature of your problem a bit more.

Btw, ofcourse you can sign in to anything useful, you're here aren't you? :P

ok,

1). Go to 'Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options'.
2). Select the 'Security' Tab.
3). Select each zone followed by the 'Default level' button.
4). Select 'OK'. Close all broswer windows and see if your issues are resolved.
5). If you still have issues it is likely you have spyware or malware altering your settings. Run a full sweep of the system, reboot and try again!
