when i go to play it the controls dont work. my character dosent. i tried changing the controls but it still dosent work!

Which Splinter Cell game are you having problems with? What controls are you using (i.e. keyboard or gamepad etc.)? I presume you're playing on the PC. I firstly recommend that you download and install any patches that are out for it to see if that works. Without more information I can't really suggest much else.
