can't get started

I am new to surfing and forums. I downloaded several games to try and can't open them. they have a .pl extension. Do I need a special program?

your browser didnt properly precognise the file type (what is your browser? we can probably fix this bug).

rename the files to .zip and you should be able to open them

Hmm i guess it didn't like the perl download script? :P

right.

the script sets a content-disposition header to tell the browser to use the correct filename to save but it seems certain browsers/downloaders sometimes just ignore this and use the extension of the script.

its something it would be nice to look into some time i suppose.
