couple other things im wondering if htye can be explained i tried reinstalling the game and it went great untill it asked for disc5 and once i put that in i got the dam windows- wrong volume error over and over so i tried all the discs and it would say number 5 after and then the problem would repeat and the disk aint even got a scratch on it and now even after i cancelled the installation i keep getting hte window-wrong volume error and when i take cds out it says no disk and no matter what will not stop, if ya ask me its becoming a pain in ass
nvm it seems to happen with any of the disks at random and i got no viruses or spyware on my comp either |

You have the latest drivers for your videocard right?
If this version of Far cry doesn't work any more then try getting the ad supported from here. Linky.

I downloaded the Ad supported game and gave it a try with my
setup. Core2 Xtreme Quad 6700, 2 GB PC2 8500, 2 8800GTX's and it just crashes to the desktop every 5-10 minutes. I am using Vista 32-bit Home Premium with all the newest drivers. It does this at stock speeds. I've got the video settings at 8xAA and 8xAF and when it plays I'm still hovering around 100 fps. I shouldn't have to lower my settings to play this game and I won't. Hopefully Crysis with be more stable with newer tech. But I won't buy it till I give the demo a whirl 1st. I'm tired of buggy games. And I won't buy anymore games thru an online download. Steam and Half-Life2 cured me of that stupidity. I bought Half-Life2 thru Steam and now whenever I try to redownload it the servers are always to busy for my request, It's CD's or DVD's for me. I'd like to see a BIG BOYCOTT of games that are sold online without the disc's sent as a bonus. And games that require online activation. I'll quit bitching now :-) Here's a few screenies of the Ad-Supported version of Far Cry :-) ![]()

What version is the freebie release?
By the looks of Slay's screenshots, it doesn't have HDR enabled!
