COH.... WTF?

I've been playing COH since it was released. Now I get this update that is over 1GB in size. It installs fine. Then another 5 MB. It installs fine. I play a few games. All is fine. I try to play a few hours later and it suddenly (FIRST TIME EVER) requires my DVD to play. Now it doesn't recognize the DVD. What the hell?? I can't even play single player without it asking for my DVD and not recognizing it. My CD key is valid. This is not a bogus copy. There is no option to ask for help (Basically try again or quit to windows is all you get). I cannot register on RELIC forums with a hotmail.com address (which is ALL I have). This is the biggest kick in the nuts I have ever gotten. Been playing this game 6 months with no problems and now they want my DVD in each time and it doesn't recognize it! I'm really pissed. There is no way in hell I'm going to buy the expansion just to get around this BS. Anyone else have this problem?!?

didn't thought much of CoH anyway. But appearently Game devs now go that way. CP that arn't really CPs anymore and just there so that the honest guy has to buy the game again...llike the retarded BioChock 2 now 5 install thingy. I just downloadad the game and used the installer pass thingy instead of installing my real game. but BS doesn't have MP so it doesn't mater if you play CoH MP then you're kinda outa luck or try a mini iso.

He meant company of heroes, Relic has made that game and he mentions them. Don't know who moved it to mmo but I moved it to gamers help.

After reading around relic's website for a bit I found the problem. The latest patch makes it so you are required to have the DVD in OR an internet connection to verify your accont to play now (even in single player games). For whatever reason, my DVD isn't recognized the by new ant-piracy stuff they installed. The reason it was asking for my DVD was because Relic's servers were down and it wasn't verifying through the internet. So, as long as I have an internet connection and Relic's servers are up, I can play.

I'm Thinking about reinstalling and not installing this patch. At least that way I wouldn't need my DVD or an internet connection just play single player games. Kinda dumb to put in ant-piracy software this late in the game.

I un-installed the patch that added DX10 content, because there were also some fixes that unbalanced the MP.

It seems some developers just don't know when to stop and move on to something esle. I am sure Relic didn't patch Homeworld and Homeworld2 this much.

Homeworld 1 and 2 didn't have such a fanbase GM2 Good point though.

Speaking about patches, another one has been released today and it should fix your cd-key issues. Get it here. I am currently busy with COHpposing fronts. Pretty easy game I blitzkrieg my way trough, looks even better then the first one.

i wish they would have patched Cataclysm and Homeworld 2 i liked those games
