Problems with Bioshock, Crysis, etc

Feel somewhat embarrassed, as this may be down to ineptitude....rather than the accursed Vista(?)

I can download games, extract them and install (I ssume) just fine....however, once done, there is no way to actually start the games up: no shortcuts, etc. The games are not listed under programs, only popping up on the uninstall program screen. It would help to know where they are being installed in the first place.

Sounds simplistic, but as this problem has appeared in a previous, albeit unanswered, post I am not the only one! Grateful for any advice.

I get that problem in Vista 64 bit too from time to time. By default all games get installed into the C: drive, although I always put them on another hdd in a special map.

Easiest thing to do would be too press the menu button in the bottom left and type in Bioschock or Crysis in there. That would surely find them and then just make them stick to your start menu.

No Gazz, that's not true.
I have Vista 64 bit running on my laptop, with the same issues in case of the Crysis SP demo (though Medieval 2: Total War and Tiberian Sun work fine). At the end of the installation procedure, I got an error saying I needed an upgrade. Because this was not the case on my XP system, I ignored this. Then I got the same trouble as swanjoe. Typing "crysis" as a search didn't help, neither could I find the folder named "EA"or "Electronic Arts" (in which the game should have been installed). However, Crysis could be found in the software list of the control panel (= configuratiescherm).

But I don't really mind, I could play it on my XP system, and it appeared that some elements made me dissapointed a little about the game.
