Stalker: Rise of Chernobyl - does this run on Vist

I'm interested in purchasing this game for my son for Christmas. I have a PC which runs Vista as the operating system. I've seen from looking at the product information it runs on XP etc. but see no mention of Vista. Does anyone know if this game does run on this operating system, are there any patches necessary, if so is it easy to load. Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Yeah, it runs on Vista. Most games don't have Vista on the back of a game cover because they don't support. That's simply a testing issue and you don't have to be bothered by that. Patches are extremely easy to install, but I suggest you return here by Christmas time because you'll need to do a small list of things to optimize the gaming performance of your pc so your boy won't coming running to you with tons off problems. There's no fun in having an irritated son at your bed early in the morning while you have a hangover from drinking too much on Christmas eve.

Check this topic for some completely free programs you can use to improve the performance of your pc in general and as a gaming machine. What are the specifications of your pc btw? There might be some bottleneck on your pc that might prevent the game from working at all.

Not yet, my daughter is due on Jan. 18th. The world will know when it's born

We just have a lot of experience with young kiddos on these forums who are extremely unpatient and give up on anything that takes longer then 2 seconds to install.

Don't forget to post your system specifications first! One quick look at those and weÂ´d be able to tell you if thereÂ´s anything that might prevent you from playing the game or give you system specific tweaks to ensure fluid gameplay.

Well, right now I have a pregnant missus with a hormone level I have never thought of as possible, so there really isn't anything to congratulate me on

Still excited about seeing the little missus Gazz jr when it's due though :thumbup:
