trouble running a game -

I have currently boughten Dungeon Lords:Collectors Edition. Installed perfectly, and when I try to run it all I get is a black box in the left side of my screen then nothing, no game loads. I have installed with all antivirus programs turned off along with windows firewall but nothing. Changed combatability to 98/ME, uninstalled/reinstalled, repaired from disk, checked microsofts game advisor which says my laptop exceeds requirments for this game. But nothing works, any help PLEASE! I'm dyin over here.....
