counter strike

hi all i purchased counter strike in 98 i think. i still have the original and have installed on my new computer. have downloaded 1.6 update and steam. when i go into the game it wont connect to any of the servers. do i need to download something else or have i done something wrong. i really want to play it again. thanks for your time.

Each server contains its own server files, these may include custom models or even sounds and dont forget that you need to download the map textures again.

Just wait for the download to finish and then you can go into the game, like i said each server has its own files that you need to download.

2 hell with counter strike 98 source iz well better if u go to the counter strike source server view go right to the bottom and see if u can find zombie mod well cool some u even get unlimited ammo+to anserschmangler's question the servers were probebley shut diwn coz it was so old :thumbup:

Counter-strike 1.6 has 5 times the players source has.

But both games are different, most like 1.6 more, some like Source more. Sure as hell they didn't shut down the servers.

Do you have a firewall?
If so portforward the necessary ports, or else just get rid of it
