Total War : Eras crashing and blinking

I got Total War Eras for xmas. Thats Shogun total war+expansion, Medieval TW + expansion, and Rome TW + Xpansion.

2.4 P4, geforce2 mx 400 64mb, windows XP, 510mb RAM. My video card driver is up to date with WHQL 9371 and I have DX 9.0c

My problem with Shogun total war + expansion is that the screen blinks constantly while playing.

Medieval TW and Expansion will crash as soon as the game starts.

Rome TW + Expansion will play for about a round, and then freeze up.

Anyone know what might be the problem? My video card driver is updated, and runninc dx9.0c. Any help would be appreciated.

Rome Total War on a 64 Mb GeForce MX? That game is probably too heavy I think, for your system. Though I don't know about the other games...
Did you do a system cleanup?
