Command and Conquer Gold HiRes Patch

Hey guys,

I have a question about the C&C Gold HiRes patch that is out. I patched my game file and now when I launch C&C the screen turns black. I can hear sound for a while then it goes away and it's just a black screen again.

When I revert to the original, unpatched EXE the game works fine. I'm on Windows XP (using the Windows XP patch) and running the game in Win95 compatibility mode. I would really like to get some extra resolution.
