Default Drivers for 8800 GTX 756 MG video card?

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia (from May 29th or so, do not know the version as I am at work) for my 8800 GTX card and my games are either locking up or my performance has dropped drastically. I would like to fix this if possible. Should I run driver cleaner pro and then which drivers do you use that are very stable and/or perform well?

Thanks for your time!

Running winxp or vista? Driver Cleaner Pro could help, but try a registry cleaner, defragment, clean out temp files, and run dxdiag to look for issues. The latest driver should work, and I assume it does for most people, but just try the second newest or something

I am running vista 64 bit. No problems in the past until I loaded the newest Nvidia drivers. My computer defrags once a week on a schedule.

What is dxdaig?

Dxdiag is an application that looks through your directx files and sound + video drivers and might tell you if something's wrong

Did you un-install your previous drivers and then install the new ones?

Try using system restore to reset your system to it's previous drivers. Then uninstall the drivers, restart, install the new drivers and restart.

I have deleted all drivers and ran the sweeper in safe mode and rebooted. Loaded a new set of drivers, updated sound drivers and also removed 2 GIG of Ram from slots 2 and 4. This has stabilized the machine.

The only problem now is when I put the 2 GIG of RAM back in the machine to make it 4 GIGs I get a blue screen of death. I have ran the Windows Diagnostics Memory tool with no known issues. The question I had was even though the tool has not found any errors if I replace the 2 GIG or Ram with 2 new sticks would I still have problems with the new sticks and if you think so what else can I do to stabilize the computer with the 4 GIG of memory?

Thanks!

Try running memtest86 on the individual sticks. It's a better app for testing ram

Also bare in mind that all 3-bit incarnations of Windows, including Vista, cannot address 4GB of System RAM properly. You need to use a 64-bit operating system to do so correctly.

Ya I am running 64 bit.

It has been stable for the last few days until today when I got the blue screen of death.

I have updated my soundcard drivers recently as the last two out of three blue screens has been caused when pressing a ventrillo button?

So weird the computer ran perfect for 6 months with not a glitch.

I am starting to think it is the RAM. I see on newegg that the price on the RAM I have has dropped about 50% since I purchased it 6 months ago.
