grid multiplayer

can anybody tell me what is the problem, in Race driver grid when i choose multiplayer, then online, it says that i dont have a internet connection? what could be the problem

Are you using a firewall and/or use NAT in your router?

i'm not sure is this firewall or how U call NAT. how can i check if this firewall or something else....
earlier story is that i with some guy try to play NHL08 thru direct IP, but first time we even cannot run the game, we can comunicate with him, so i saw what team he pick and when we run this game its freezs. then i found that i can customize my network (i use Win Vista) there i can choose itspublic network or Home. when i choose home, then we can run the game, but only throw in, and then it repeat repeat and repeat......
