Is it wise to do so?

By the way, here are the specs of that laptop:
- AMD Turion x2 TL-58 (1.9 Ghz)
- 2 GB DDR2 RAM
- GeForce 8400M G Turbocache (265 Mb)
- 320 GB Dual HDD (WDC WD1600BEVS-22RST0, so I guess it is a Western Digital)

What I am wondering the most, is if I can get any significant increase in performance with XP. Additionally, are there any restrictions (or other issues) when buying an oem edition?
Even if you don't have a clear preference to XP or Vista, I would like to get your opinion.

looks like you copied my thread about that.
1) Wait for Windows 7
2) First make sure you have got all the drivers for your wireless, touchpad etc.
3) It is possible that you will lose your guarantee on that laptop.
