Just got a amd 2600 xp this week. it plays great with my ti4200 video card.

but i still will like a bigger cpu,

Just Remember that, the most boost in performance comes from your VGA and not from your CPU ;)

But If you have a TNT2 card with a pentium 4 system, upgrading your vga will give you more boost in performance then upgrading your cpu

Not arguing your point....

I'm going to go from a 1.6Ghz cpu to a (hopefully) 2+Ghz cpu for $79. A jump that big for that cheap is hard to beat
