call of duty 4 Awaiting Key Code Authorization solved

There are a lot on the net about this problem and after a few hours mine is now working and i hope this was not by chance.
My call of duty was patched to 1.7 and could not find any servers or if i played through x fire i got awaiting cd code activation .
Mine is now fixed this is what i done.

1.Uninstall the game removing saves i used perfect uninstaller removes registry entries.
2.reinstall game to another drive
3.do not patch the game using 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 there is a patch on this very website the 1.6 patch has all the previous patches included install the 1.6 and the 1.7 and hopefully it should work.
I hope it was a conflict between the 1.6 patch when installed over the the previous ones.
