And make sure you don't select all codecs when installing new media programs or codec packs like K-lite. Only codecs for filetypes your pc does not yet support.

I ran that and it did a lot of stuff to my computer and EmoDio works ( as in, it starts up and pretends its going to let me use it) but Rhapsody still doesn't open. When emodio worked it let me almost add some mp3s to it but then crashed when I actually tried to add them. Here is the error message it gave me:
ASSERT Failed
Executable: SMSMain.exe Pid 5d8 Tid 924. Module QuickTimeSource.dll, 2 objects left active! At line 317 of D:\Program Files\DXSDK9\Samples\C++\DirectShow\BaseClasses\dl lentry.cpp
Continue? (cancel to debug)
Also, the DVD drive doesnt seem to recognize a disk when it's put in. When I go to My Computer it shows that the drive is empty even though I have a cd-r or a game disk in there.

Well, if tune up isn't able to fix your problems quickly, you should wonder wether it is worth it to start repairing your installation. In my opinion, a fresh format should be done every 3 months anyway. Then again, I have Windows installed as a gaming os only and use Mandriva Linux for all other things like listening to music, text work, mail and so on.
Anyway, do you want to go trough the process of us helping you on a forum which is always slow or reinstall and be done with it?

Then download it of the internet. Windows requires the code for installation and it verifies that to counteract piracy. If you use a oem disc for that which you download of any Torrent/usenet site is completely irrelevant. All that matters is a legit code, nothing else.
It's not that Windows doesn't run or update without a official disc in your drive.
