hey, I have my question. My friend and I are in the process of purchasing our first laptop. Along with that, we also want to purchase a wireless router. Along with the laptop, the router will be used with our PS3 (40 gig) and our Wii. Does anyone have any suggestions on which wireless router would be the best to purchase? We are very new to this and want to purchase the best one for our needs.

I personally think any good branded wireless router will suffice.
Thinking the laptop is wireless and the ps3 and wii are not wireless e.a normal cables?
Do you have a modem now? or an modemrouter? , if so check that good before you buy the wrong hardware if you have a modem its not a big prob but if you have a modem router right now and you order an router you cant connect to your provider becuase u need the modem, look into that.
Also cable or DSL routers and such.

Basically you need router with 802.11n standard or 802.11g (first one is better but second is fine too). You don't need to worry because all routers are very similar and if you don't need any special features then any will do.
Before buying check what Internet connection you have. Sometimes you will have to have modem (usually ADSL modem). You can buy then router and a modem or all-in-one. I know you will use wi-fi but it's wise to have cable ports in you router too (usually 4 is enough).
If there is only one cable port then if you want to connect more devices then you need to buy Switch (those are cheap and any can do ;))

PS. Linksys, Broadcom, 3Com, USRobotics and maybe D-Link are good producers of this stuff but other also should be ok
PPS. Some routers have detachable antenna. It's good thing, because you can attach better antenna or place it in better spot (where whole router could not fit)
