grahics card how good?

I have a ATI radeon 7200Q can anyone tell me how old it is and if it will be ok to play games with or should i upgrade.

It's a very crappy card. Upgrade to at least a mainstream DX9 card; you'll see a huge improvement.

Just as a little test, go try out something like UT2003. If you notice your frame rate going to around 10 most of the time, you have a problem. Now imagine that but twice as slow, which is pretty much how DX9 games will run on your card.

I'm not sure how old the card is, since I didn't use to care about ATI products back then, but it's around the performance level of a GF2...I think a little better than a GF2 MX.

Looks like you gotta spend some money boy! If you want a DECENT vid card, consider nothing under the radeon 9500 models, that being said, your gonna spend around 150-200 BUCKS! HOLY FREAKIN CRAP! (thats actually pretty cheap for a vid card)

Might need to check your power supply, so many people just buy a top of the line graphics card then try to run it on a 300 w power supply.

I would recommend going for either a Radeon 9600pro or a 9700pro. They are both cheap as heck now, If you are looking for DX9 support get the 9600pro, the 9700pro lacks it.

If you want to go all out, either go for the Nvidia FX5900 Ultra or the Radeon 9800pro. They both are great choices with the Fx5900 being slightly cheaper.

Oop's, I made a booboo. I thought the 9700pro didn't take full advantage, only partial. BUt just went to the ATI site and it stated that it takes full advantage... oh well... dam im wrong for once.... f**k...
