Ahh...I trully feel sorry for you. You spent all that money only to be crawling in hl2 and just about every DX9 game that's going to be released, interesting how your card will perform better with DX8.1 instead of 9.0b. You go ahead and stick your head back in the ground now...

@dworks look at the doomIII benchs, there the ati cards are far away from being high end and its a dx9 game
so it depends on the developers how good is a game running with any vidcard
just as in times of voodoo and power vr boards but that has not to be discussed here :P
damn fight between ati and nvidia users we all are gamers and thats the only thing that counts!

You're obviously misinformed. The reason Doom 3 runs better on the FX line of cards is because a NV3x code path which ATI of course doesn't have. HL2 on the other hand doesn't. The FX5900Ul performs poorly in a native DX9 code path (HL2) mainly because it can't do PS2.0 games well at all.

wait for the 5x.xx dets benched at hl2 and the gap between ati and nvidia will be just like a fart (close to nothing)
i hope that but the aquamark3 preview bench with the new drivers showed us the potential of the new dets

Well i had this problem with a 350 watt power supply, wasnt bad either, but my comp was struggling to run off 350 watts, so iv now upgraded to a 550 watt psu and it is a beast! runs everything perfect, if u want sum cheap psu's, check out this site mate, and trust, worth gettin a Q-Tec 550watt dual fan gold, its the bussiness! (only £32.89 with free p&p, bargain!)

thanks....well thats an amazing price for a 550w psu but iam from germany and the shipping is not that cheap and iam not in the mood to wait 2 weeks for a psu i need it next week, i think i go to my local dealer and buy the coba
