Guys, I'm thinking of buying a TV tuner for my PC and I am not really sure on which one to pick
So, does any of you have a tuner and could I, please, have some owners' oppinions? ... Or any other oppinions...

Hm, for that price ($125) you can prolly get a FX5200 with VIVO and use it for capture. I recommended it to a friend of mine and he says is great.

How about something under $100?
I'm like planning to use it for maybe 3 ... up to 6 months and don't really need something that expensive...
The first and most important requirement is that it should run with no problems once installed. I'm leaving the PC to my girlfriend and I doubt she could manage any PC related problems without me...

I went for Pinnacle PCTV, but they didn't have it in store, so I got an AVerMedia instead...
It works pretty nice, but the software sux a little, so... any ideas about an alternative software?
I see that you guys don't really go for TV tuners, but who knows...

If you are looking for a good cheap capture card go with the Pinnacle PCTV rave
Also I was not wild with the packageed tv program/scheduler so i went out and got Dscaler
which is a very good tv tuner that is best of all free....

Hello,
If you're going to be on a budget, may I recommend to you the Ati TV wonder VE. What is a "VE" you ask? That stands for "Value Edition". It is a simple PCI tv tuner card, which has a composite input (yellow plug on the yellow, red and white rca cables) as well as coax (standard for cable television). You can find then in the United states under $50, a very affordable price for what the card is. I've done many video captures and the quality is great for VCD, 320x240 or 352x240. With ATIs software you can make your desktop background turn into a tv or you can have it in a small window. The audio is mono out, which includes a small loop back cable which plugs into the line in on your sound card. Some people will frown on the mono out, but personally I think its fine for basic tv watching and it sounds great.
I hope this helped you out, and the benefits to this card is when and if you upgrade your video card, you still have your tv tuner/capture card!
Good luck in your search.

Yeah well, I used to be into that years ago. You'll outgrow that eventually ;)
