Hi all,
Ive just given my old system to my sister (WinXP home Athlon1600XP ASUS mobo 512mb), the only thing I kept from the system was my GF4 TI128 GFX card and replaced it with a bog standard ATI Pro 128. We booted the PC up with all her original keyboard 'n stuff, no probs except 1 thing......on certain windows within XP(actually most) the text is not complete, e.g. there will be parts of lettering missing until the mouse cursor scrolls over it then it becomes clear. Ive updated the driver for the ATI card twice, Ive even done a clean instal of windows but its still a problem.... Anybody have any ideas? Regards..Ell....

im a complete amateaur at windows fixing, but maybe your fonts folder is damaged somehow, try going iinto display properties and change all the fonts to something different, anyway thats something i would try.
but if it doesnt work dont get mad, because i truly dont know what im doing, just doing that sounds like it might work

what you describe is actually a view function for folders and files in XP change the different view options (right beside edit and file) and see which suits your needs best. List view shows the full name on files/dirs. |

[b]I see you have a problem that is not uncommon with ATI cards ,
I don't know which model asus mobo u have but I reccomend going to asus and getting the latest bios patch, and if ya look around a bit, you might just find a patch for just that problem once you update the bios , then I would do a fresh install and that should fix the problem HAWK33 |

I figured out your problem.
WinXP Home. Get Pro lol besides, Home runs horrible. My friend had XP Home, and it said it wouldn't run Warcraft III on Home Edition. sad sad take your Home cd and throw it in the microwave. You'll get more enjoyment. lol

Hi all,
Cheers for all the suggestions, I changed the font sizes and the colour of the interface(colour made no diff), and that sorted it. regards..Ell....
