Hardware Section Suggestions

Hey Guys,

I'm looking over what we can improve, some sort of a wishlish...
what would you like to see in the Hardware Section? More Articles? Features ? Prizes? News? Build a forum community...

just things that i can look over for the new year, maybe a long-term project to enhance the Hardware Section..

Do post some feedback in here...

well personally i m very into hardware.... i think u guys just need to spark some interest.. maybe some reviews/articles.....

How about Soultrape doing a step by step project, like once a month?

You could do simple tutorial type things, like how to install RAM, or something more in-depth, like a full upgrade project.

We see a lot of people coming here looking for help because they are doing their own upgrade for the first time, or building their first PC. Having a library of tutorials would attract them like crazy, I would think.

On second thought... maybe a more... um, fundamental approach is called for.

Suggested topics:

"The F1-F12 keys. Not just for a pencil rest!"
"Proper usage of a Mouse"
"Monitor controls 101"
"1001 power switch locations"

You get the idea, and besides, Syanide really is needing some help

Tutorials, will be taken into account.... good suggestion though.

as for the forums, either we'll have one Massive change to the forum system for the Hardware Section here, or, we might go with a seperate forum, we're still looking into that.

We know its a bit diffecult, due to the 2-time registerations, but over-all, the new audiance that we'll attract, as well as the different nature of the forum, might force us to... if you have comments on that, you're more than welcome (we could have everyone's existing account Copied over there too, maybe to ease the proccess)

any more suggestions?

On a serious note, why would Gh need two separate forums for gaming and hardware...

For one, we're not sure how our rules will fit with the GamersHell rules... we want to try and build a Flame free (Cough Cough) and spam free forums...

Also, we'd be incorporating some Forum Specific features which cannot be done unless we tamper with the Forum itself.

i could probably think of other reasons as well, but i think those two would do... wouldn't you say?

Personally, I think that having an entirely seperated forum for hardware is a great idea.

Having one hardware section in the midst of all of these others doesn't exactly attract a great deal of attention, and what attention it does attract seems to often times be negative. I have seen more flames in this section than all the rest of the forum combined.

Are you talking about having 2 forums links from the main page, 1 for gaming and the other for hardware?
