Help with Lionheart trainer

I'm having trouble with the Lionheart trainer by IMSDOX. I've tried it with the demo, with version 1.0 and version 1.1, and it doesn't work. In version 1.1, it even crashes the game.

I do the following: I start the game, jump to the desktop and start the trainer. Then i jump back in the game and press buttons 1 through 4. All I get is the normal response from the hotkeys.

Anyone know how to make it work? Or failing that, how to get a lot of skill points or become immortal som other way?
