By now most of you know of that annoying bug in BT that will restart your computer, well mine does this quite often, and it did it just recently, and now i have to start my download all over again, becuase once it restarts it will run scandisk and ill lose everything. And most of the time im gone or asleep when these happen.
What im asking is if someone can tell me how to disable Scandisk in XP to were it will only run on my command, even when these restarts occur.I want complete control over it.
Can anyone help me?

Right click your computer icon, scroll to properties... click the advanced tab, then goto Start up and Recovery.Click the settings button, uncheck Auto Restart.Hope this might help you.I had the same problem at one time.

that trick will only stop the system from restarting. it can still restart though but the error you get might be stopped by doing this
i dont think there is a way to disable scandisk at bootup in XP after an unvanted reboot
i know you can in 98 by running the msconfig util and disable it in the menu but there isnt such an option in xp.
i have searched for a solution in xp but have not find any

Check to see what kind of net card your using.Ive heard that BT doesnt get along well with certain ones, but supposedly updated drivers can fix that.Here...i found this little tidbit in the BT Faq's....who knows , could help

well vehicon, i tried that but didnt seem to work, buit on the oher hand prime ive download 2 full episodes of anime using bt and havent had a single restart, speed going strong as well.I dont really think that was a updated driver, cause i had the latest one that linksys had, however that driver did do the trick,so im not gonna complain.

im still pissed but i found out one of the major causes of this big ass f**k up,its called INTERNET EXPLORER,i justdownloaded opera internet browser, and im gettin none of those errors, but regardless, this is still pissing me off,i like my computer in tip top shape, not a damn thing wrong with it,however if ican get opera working the way i like it,i might not have to format, cause opera is usally one hell of a browser program
