my x-box has a brain

I got an X-Box when they first came out. It since crashed and I got another one. The disce drive is fried on my first Box, but the hard drive is still good. I've been told I can add that hard drive to my new one and have this, like, huge memory. Anybody know anything about this?

My Xbox got a 120gig HD and 3 OS's and an expaended Ram. It's called modding :dennis:

Now the best part of my box is that I got no games for it. there are just no console games that exites me anymore, I still play NeoGeo and Mega Drive :dennis:

Hey KamisoriX, can i use eny memory (RAM) in my xbox, or is sthere some special one??? Where can i find tutorial of how to add the extra RAM?
I do a lot of 4player gaming, and it makes some games weary choppy, i hope to get rid of a bit of the choppiness in some games, does the extra memory realy help?

I was told I could "chip" my X-Box to run with both of the hard drives. He told me I could get a chip thet was screw-on or one that get soldered on. Was he just talkin' sh*t, or is this for real? (slayer one's disclaimer) I'm not real computer smart, so dumb it down for me. :bucky!:

To be honest, I don't know. My friend is making all the moddings. But I guess you just use standart SDRAMs :dennis:

But you can put image files on your HD on a modded Xbox. You won't have to put in the Game DVDs anymore, that rulz(like noCD crack but without the crack)......still got no games thou, only some movies and emulators :Oo: :dennis:

PS: PS2 and Xbox games got no copy protection ;)

there's a bunch of info about different modchips or programs you can aquire as well as guides on how to add an extra hardrive and other general hardware modding you can do to your machine.

i think in order to change the hardrive you need a modchip, i went for the Xecutor 2.2 lite, although i warn you in advance: theyre a bugger to install and opening up your box immediately voids your warranty, so if you do it wrong you have a dead xbox. also, there are some legality issues which you have to be aware of.

I got all my Neo Geo Games on my Xbox and thats why I needed more ram so I can play them.
But nothing can beat the good ol NeoGeo Joystick so I went back and play it on my good ol real NeoGeo machine


To install a diff HD in your box you need to alter the HD on PC first so it can be use as a X component. Then you need a mod chip and flash the original OS of the box with any other OS. then you sit there and wonder why you did it because you got nothing for the box anyway :dennis: :Oo:
