Building my own PC

Ok, well here it goes. I'm building my own pc with my dad. I know quite a bit..about computers as anyone else who loves pc's would. But I need help.

Now dont think of money. I want the best mother board(newest,fastest etc) that supports DDR ram and is good for gaming. I want the best graphics card and sound card. I want a good PSU, and processer now..with all those said...what brands etc should I get? please tell me a list of each thing to get like this:

MotherBoard: (info)
DDR ram: (info)
Graphics card: (info)
Sound Card: (info)
Psu: (info)
Processer: (info)

the rest depense on ya tast I guess, but you should have at least 1gig Ram :dennis:

Gpu is also what your taste is also. Ati (in my opnion) is better for video editing and waht not. I prefer geforce myself. The ram-a gig is good but 512 will do ya fine. As for the mb and processor, I prefer AMD but again thats just a prefernce. The sound card that KX reccomended will do ya good as lond as you have speakers that will take advantage of it. The power supply, well 450 or above should do ya good. Just my 2 cents

I got Logitech Z-680 I was going for the Audigy 2 plus the AMD processer..and my dad wants me to have 2gb DDR ram lol

To be honest if you want a standart machine I can't really help ya, I know only high end components but most of them are not for gaming :Oo: :dennis:

I'm trying to make the ultimate gaming machine...so I DONT LAG!! I'm lagging so bad with this POS computer right now, 1.5ghz p4 geforce 4 ti 4600, sb live 768ram (sdram)

I suggest the following:

Motherboard: The AN7 from Abit or the A7N8X Deluxe from Asus.

DDR SDRAM: Corsair Micro XMS Series TWINX1024-4000PRO (2x512MB DDR SDRAM modules)

GPU: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro A-I-W

Sound Card: Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

PS: ThermalTake 480W http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-22.html and have Frozen CPU sleeve the wires.

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 3200+

Of course, if money is definately not an issue then buy an AMD FX and a pimp motherboard from Abit or Asus to go along with it.

Gen. Tommy what do you mean by "lag?" Do you lag when you play a game online or does it take a while for your computer to perform certain tasks?

Lag has nothing to do with your PC combos. You can have the best PC the world and still lag.
Lagging is cause of low data stream of your internet connection. :dennis:

Lag usally refers to games online and in that case tis the server or the ppl on the server
