Hi all,
Did a microsoft update last night, when finished re-booted in the normal manner but, upon re-boot the safe mode option screen appeared and no matter which option I select it just loops round again to the safe mode option screen......... Even tried the recovery disc, but i cant select any options from that either.... Anyone any clue............Bloody microsoft updates...  Regards..Ell....

Hrm... Re-install Windows on top of the current installation... You'll probably be able to keep all the configuration and other files you have in it... That's what I did the last time my windows 2000 got f**ked.
Alternatively, try pressing F8 when booting, and either try to load last saved good configuration (if such option is present in XP - I know it does in 2k), or try step-by-step debug mode. Hope this helps... MS sucks :rant:
