I searched the forum, couldn't find anything, so heres my question. Is there a mobo out there that will support dual AMD processors? My brother has a g4 mac and has dual 800mhz processors, hes a graphic artist. I was wondering if they had anything like that for the PC. I would be interested in dual AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Bartons. Is it possable? I searched newegg.com, i tried google but didnt want to wade through all that crap. I just want a quick answer, yes or no kinda, a little discussion.

Athlon MP is what you want, search for a mobo that supports that cpu.
Athlon MP is the dual choice on the amd plattform.

You can mod bartons to work in SMP mode but it requires you to cut and join some of the L3 bridges and join the last of the L5 bridges.

Yeah I don't think I want to cut anything. I was just wondering if I could put two 2500+ athlons together and overclock the damn out of them, you know, go fast. I haven't heard much about the MPs are they any good.

Yes, you can overclock a Dual amd im running Dual Athlon MP 2600+'s
on a Tyan Tiger MPX board, the 266mhz Throughbred core chips will
work on the board just fine, but to get barton 333 chips to run on the 2466-N
or any AMD 768 chipset box you need to hack the CPU to unlock all
the multipliers, because the barton chips run a much lower FSB multiplier
it needs to be hacked to run, but there are people running DUal bartons
but its not just as easy as slappin them in. You might wanna check out
www.2cpu.com's forums for the real scoup.

I run Dual Athlon XP 2400+'s that I hacked into MP's by connecting
the L5 bridges, works great... and YES! You can overclock the FSB on
these boards using the program "CPUFSB" you just select the chipset
(Tyan 2466x) and pump up the multipliers.... Software overclockable
I run my Dual 2.0ghz cpu's at 2.2 ghz stable.. any faster then 2.2ghz
its unstable.

You can download cpufsb, do a google search.

Hope this helps, my email address is dannadeau2112@hotmail.com
if your interested in learning more about the Dual Athlon setup, thats
what I run as my gamestation w/ a Radeon 9800 Pro....very sick box.

I'll let you know how the A64 is in a week, seeing as I just ordered one.
