Nope, they are backwards compatible with 32bit games

I watched a computer show a few weeks back on sky,
And it was telling you about the new 64 bit saying to get the best out of games and apps that you will need a 64 os, 64 bit video card if you can find one, and after all that will you find any games that run it 64 bit mode :bucky!:

As i said, its backwards compatible with 32bit, so you wont have ANY problems using 32bit hardware OR software

And M$ should be bringing out a 64bit OS in the middle of this year i think

but my view is if you going to get a amd 64 you want it to run it 64 bit mode and not 32
So I will wait till more software and hardware comes out 1st before buying one

you might have to wait a while for 64 bit support OS and applications. You do have windows betas with 64 bit support, but they don't improve performance all that much, meaning programmers will have to spend a good while to utilize all the powers of 64 bit computing in anything but server related things. HOWEVER, the a64 performs extremely well on 32 bit applications (and games), so if you're in the market then the a64 3000+ gives you a lot for your money. I'm personally waiting for the nforce 3 250 chipset that's probably due in about march.
