Help Me!!!

I love Diablo 2, it's one of my favourite games, but when i formated my computer i forgot to re-install it. To day when i tried to install it, it screwed up on me, it installed perfectly well, but when i tried to play it, it told me i needed to insert the disc into the other drive, so i did, then i apparently neede to put it in the first drive, so i did, it screwed me around for ages, then I remembered that i had copied the game, so I inserted a disc in each drive, finally, the game loads, or not, it freezes with a black screen as soon as I click "play". I then chose to run it in 2000 compatability mode, this, again had no effect, so i decided to remove the program, and to my surprise it was on the list twice, how i don't know, but i decided to remove only one of these. The other was still there when i closed the window, so i tried to run it again, this time it told me i needed to install the game, so i checked what programs were on my computer, and, low and behold, the other one had disappeared. I really NEED this game or my life will be hell, please please please someone help me!!!

well, I needed to buy the install disks, since my friend had moved away, he gave his install disks to someone else (on accident) so I already had legit expansion CD + keys for online. I already had an LoD cd.
You need both the original D2 and the D2:LoD keys to play online. I called up a few videogame stores, bought a used copy of the install disks (original D2) for $15 and then I was set. It came with a cd key, but I don't need to use it since I already have my own.
So, I've got an extra legit un-used key just rotting away not being used on the realms.
no, you can't have it! I suppose I could sell it, since after all, I do OWN it. It's not an LoD, it's just original D2 key.

and that's perfectly legal, so I don't want any stupid asses posting on here saying "Wonder how long till this is locked.."

Why would he buy it, it damn problem, but since he could play it before it should work also now,cause the only thing he did was format:C, that should not be a prob...
Do you have probs with other games, cause maby its your cd drive, something with the Master/Slave thing.....

try completely removing the game from your hd (registry keys aswell) and reinstalling it. if that doesn't work, either format again or try it in another computer to check it isn't the disc.

Don't need a CD key.

My brother had this problem with a bunch of games so I formatted his computer to fix it.The format worked but when he got it home and started installing other software it turned out that some DVD burning program screwed it up again.
