xp too win 98 SE, because i want halflife working!

ok, my pc has been a pain, my d drive is not working no more so i took it out, the only problem is i still have old shortcuts on my c drive, and can uninstall them because they are from my d drive, and thats not on my system any more.

anyway the main reason is that i want to have a fresh c drive with nothing on it, so wot i do just format it?
and i found that halflife does not work for me on my XP , so i want to go back to windows 98 SE , could i just format my c drive and install windows 98 SE?

i dont understand why he want to install98 instead because HL will work perfect if your xp system isnt totally f**ked up.
i have never ever had any problems with HL and XP with or without patches.
im possitive that its a user error so fix your system dude instead of formatting and reinstall an old outdated os like 98 ;)
