Whats up!! I am still new to this forum but you guys seem to give the best advice. I have a unlocked barton xp2500 and a abit nf7 mobo. Witch you guys recomended. I couldnt be more stoked right now. I love it!!
I starter overclocking a little last night. Here is my question that i need help with.. OC using the multipler or bus speed. At default its set 11x166. I went to 11.5x166 then i went to 12x166. No probs at all. While plaing Generals in the most intense part od the game the temp was at 104F. Should i OC bumping up the BUS or the multiplier? It is a unlocked Barton! |

Well, i need to know what kind of ram you're using, and what kind of cooling you're using. without that it's impossible to make a good estimate, but you'd be smart to raise that FSB. For instance, running a CPU at 2200MHz (210x10.5) will give you significantly better performance than 184x12.

As i looked around.. You were right. Raising the FSB is beter than using the multiplier. Thanks.
Im in no hurry so should i just bump it up a little every morning and watch the temps? Another question if you dont mind? In my bios its set it auto timings for my ram. Should i put the 6-3-2-2 in my bios? Thanks again... |

auto settings are going to adjust the ram best suited towards the oem qualifications of the ram. my 512 mb geil 3200 has a cas of 2.5-6-3-3. it wasnt so in the bios-so i changed it manually. i also upped the voltage a tad bit - still very stable.
