Hi there fellow gamers.
I just downloaded and installed Steel Panthers. However, when I attempt to start the game it tells me it needs a DLL file named D3D9DLL. Now, I have a Master's in History, but I know about as much about computers as I do about quantum physics so I am out of my depth here. Can you help me please. My PC is an old pentium II 266 mherz, 64 RAM, and works on Window$ 98 Thanks in advance for any advice offered. Palle Rasmussen, Denmark |

OK, I installed Direct X 9 and I can now start the game. However, it starts, then after a couple of thenths of seconds freeze and I get the SPWAW has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down message. Details follows...

If the game is 'really old' try an older Direct X driver like 7.0. 9.0 is for new high-technology games.
If that doesn't work, try it on a slightly older OS (W95) with the above, at a low resolution (640x480/800x600). If you go through this much trouble, I hope this is one helluva game on you're part |
