I have a 2500 + barton athlon xp 333mhz fsb and what not im sure you know which chip it is... combined with an asus a7n8x deluxe motherboard... how do i go about overclocking it... im a newb at overclocking ive never done it but i want to... like im sure you guys know what settings i can run it at safely... i mean i dont wanna have to trial and erorr it .. if you know what i mean..

well we need to know what ram you have, and what cooling you're using.
what you essentially do is you press delete when the PC starts, putting you in the bios. next you go to the chipset settings (i think). here you change the front-side bus and the multiplier, along with various volt settings. you should try googling for overclocking guides, because you should really know what you're doing before you actually do it good luck

The first step to do an overclock is to learn HOW TO !
Second step is to check the avaliable hardware. The Third and final imo is to start doing some experiments, trying to get the most from your hardware. In a Overclocking there are things like FSB MULTYPLIER CAS LATENCY RAS LANTENCY VOLTAGES like #2 said google it Gl
