i really i need to get my bios to the newest version, because my pc is overheating and there is a fix for it in the new bios, msi KT400 i have.

but wot i do, i got the msi updater program and it says this. and wots the floppy disk for?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MSI Live BIOSTM is the tool to online detect and auto-update BIOS.

MSI Live BIOSTM is compatible with operating systems like Windows® 98, Millennium, 2000, XP and NT 4.0. The current version supports Microsoft® IE 5.0 and later version only.

In the BIOS flashing procedure, the instability of the PSU (Power Supply Unit), power failure or other operating errors might result in the process failure which makes the system fail to re-boot, which are not guaranteed by MSI's product warranty.

Important! In order to safely flash the BIOS. Please make sure to close all running applications in your system before flashing the BIOS. (Including: Outlook, ICQ, Anti-Virus application...)

Man, I have the same motherboard as you do(or at least the chipset is the same) If you can't flash it, leave your pc box open - it works great for me - no more overheating problems

What ,exactly,do you mean your PC is overheating? Is it the CPU or the MB?What are the temperatures? Are all of your fans running and are they running at the proper RPM's?I only ask because I just had to replace the fan on my heatsink to my CPU because it was only running at 1000 RPM's when it should have been at 4000 RPM's or better. It was causing all my games to crash after about 30 seconds of starting them.

well my games are lagging, like on call of duty when im on a server with like 40 people it lags like crazy
plus raven shield lags, i ahve tryed everything i can think of, such as programs running etc, and defrag , and new drivers and, new bios , and it still lags, so it must be the overheating , i see green lines on the screen sometimes at start of games, my temp is 70 , i check with fuzzy logic 4.
