Far Cry Graphical Glitches (Help Needed)

as I approach the trees more and more will appear. As you can see the top of one of the trees on the island is visiable because it is within a certian range of me.

Specs:

Athlon T-Bird 1.3ghz
Geforce4 Ti 4200
512 pc133 ram
all latest drivers and patches

or it could be that its trying to Render Dx9 on your Dx8 card, tryed lowering the setting a little?
... or if your card supports OpenGL, i think there's an option to change it to that..

It wont let me switch from D3D 9x to openGL...the option is greyed out! This was a good idea and Im sure its the problem....I just dont know how to fix it!

did you try unistalling game completley? and then reinstall the game? that might help-also-try a different driver version-differtn catalyst-could be a bug with the latest one...never know

Dont listen to what he said about a catalyst. That has to do with an ATI card and you said you have a Nvidia.

OH SH*T! sorry...thought you had an ati card-everyone does these days! sorry anyway-try different DETenator (nvidia dirvers) :P

I have experienced what looked like this problem before on an ATI 9800 Pro. For me it was to do with anti-aliasing/aniso filtering options. Have you tried mucking around with these options, turning them on/off?

My friend has the same card as you (GF4 Ti 4200) and it was working with anti-aliasing and aniso off, although he never tried turning them on/never had this glitch.

changing the options simply made all the objects no matter how close, look like the above picture, only the environment was "normal"....how can I install old Detonator drivers?
