i have an emachines c2480, and it has intergated sound to the motherboard...
i just decided to get a BETTER sound card....its a sound blaster live! i put it in my computer the correct way and installed the drivers from the cd......
when i restart, the sound doesnt work! i cant hear anything! help! i think this has something to do with the intergated sound. i want my compputer to use the new sound card and not the intergated one.....help!
i was there all right.
i went back to check again in Integrated Peripherals but all i found there was:
Via OnChip PCI device
Super IO device
OnChip USB controller
OnBoard LAN device
Onboard LAN Boot ROM
Also take into consideration that most soundblaster live and audigy cards do not like being in certain PCI slots. Change it to another and all should be fine. Windows does not mind having 2 or more soundboards actively installed, all should be ok as long as you have enough free resources to run the cards. Just make sure your preferred output device is selected in your multimedia properties within control panel.
Put the onboard off and, go to sounds and other stuff with configuration in start. Than set go to advanced and put on the sound system on your kind of boxes.
